We currently have the following staff and interns:

Sister Namibia is run by a collection of dedicated and passionate staff, volunteers and interns, that are committed to furthering the cause of the women’s rights movement in Namibia.

Laura Sasman is Sister Namibia’s Director.  Laura has over 20 years of experience working in NGO’s in Namibia and Swaziland. She worked at the Namibia Development Trust, then at the PEACE Centre, as well Women and Law in Southern Africa in Swaziland, and has lived between Namibia, Swaziland and Germany. She is passionate about developing new ideas and ways to change the state and status of women in Namibia.

 

 

 

Johanna Eberenz is the bookkeeper at Sister Namibia. She is happy to be part of a feminist organisation, where she has learnt to stand up and fight for her rights as a woman. Johanna is a grandmother to 6 granddaughters and teaches them independence and empowerment.

 

 

 

 

 

Naana Lorbeer is currently an intern at Sister Namibia. She is originally from Berlin, Germany, where she is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Social Work at Alice-Salomon University. Naana chose Sister Namibia because she is passionate about women’s rights issues in Namibia and has vast experience working with NGO’s.

 

 

 

 

 

Conny Blaettler is a Senior Management Advisor volunteer from Interteam. She comes from Lucerne in Switzerland and has years of experience in management and adult education. Conny is Interteam’s first volunteer in Namibia to work at an organisation that focuses specifically on the rights of women and girls in Namibia.

 

 

 

 

Sheena Magenya is Sister Namibia's Consulting Media Officer. She holds a BA in Media Studies and Psychology from the University of Namibia. She is a feminist that is passionate about women and girls rights and empowerment. She assists in the production and distribution of Sister Namibia magazine, and other aspects of Sister Namibia’s media programme.
